Crystal Group Adopts Smart Medical Platform for Sri Lanka Staff

Crystal International Group Limited adopted a smart medical consultation platform oDoc in its Sri Lanka’s factories earlier last year, offering unlimited 24-hour access of medical consultations for about 1000 employees and their family members with a monthly fee. The services provide high impact health benefits that boost productivity since employees can instantly consult a doctor and get a valid prescription within minutes using the oDoc app without getting in front of a doctor.

oDoc is a mobile application that was launched by a leading telemedicine solution provider oDoc (Private) Limited in Sri Lanka with operations in India. It allows users to connect with qualified and experienced doctors via video, audio and text consultation. Employees can book over 200 Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC) registered General Physicians and specialists, receive a prescription and get the medication delivered. If lab tests are required, a mobile lab can be ordered to their home or office via the app.

Commenting on this oDoc practice, Mr. Colin Vose, Chief Operating Officer of Crystal Sri Lanka factories, stated “We always make employees the top priority and focuses on various initiatives of employee care and welfare program. With the oDoc app, workers can save money for a medical consultation as the monthly fee for the app is covered by our factory. It also saved workers’ time and reduced any production delays because they don’t need to be present in the clinics and hospitals for medical services. We target to extend the service to all 5000 employees by the end of 2020.”

It is believed that this form of healthcare delivery will gradually gain global acceptance.  Crystal International will continuously devote every effort in implementing new employee care programs in 2020.
