GT Korea, the only garment machinery and textile industry fair in Korea was held in 2018 after 12 years had passed since SIMEX 2005. Under the new title, GT Korea 2018 held at KINTEX for 3 days concluded with a prosperity of 57 exhibitors from 11 countries and 12,300 visitors.
The exhibitors showed lots of advanced automated equipment applied to the state-of-the-art technology. Also, many of the leading local vendors of garment export and the members of the garment/textile industry from China, Vietnam, Philippine, Indonesia, Taiwan, etc. visited the exhibition venue. 2018 GTSC (GT Korea Smart Factory Conference) held during the exhibition period was a great success with the valuable audience as well.
The exhibition date of next edition has been settled to be held in September 2020 including Saturday reflecting the opinions of exhibitors. The promotion marketing has been started in cooperation with the relevant institutes, associations and companies at home and abroad.
The scale of GT Korea 2020 is expected to be enlarged more than the first edition forecasting 500 booths for 150 exhibitors. Many of participants in GT Korea 2018 expressed high satisfaction recording average 3.7 points out of 5 points. The level of satisfaction on developing the industry network records the highest figure and that on facility operation/management and on opportunity for presenting the new products are also relatively high. In accordance with such high satisfaction of the Korean exhibitors, the organizers plan to get the participation confirmation from leading local companies in advance. Also, they aim to make GT Korea one of the well-known and large international exhibition covering overall garment and textile industry through diversifying and balancing the exhibits by encouraging the attendance from local companies relating cloths, bags, accessories, etc. as well as small giant companies.
To attract valuable exhibitors and visitors from home and abroad, the organizers have visited relevant overseas exhibitions like Osaka Sewing Machine Show 2019 in Japan, Techtextil and Texprocess 2019 in Germany, etc. The co-organizers have discussed the cooperation plan with TSMA (Taiwan Sewing Machinery Association), VDMA (German Engineering Federation), ACIMIT (Italian Textile Machinery Association) and with the organizers of JIAM Show in Japan, CISMA in China and SPESA in USA and promoted aggressively to the decision makers at leading garment and textile machinery companies. Besides, they have been focusing on attracting foreign companies and buyers by making barter contract with the international partners in Japan, Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Italy, Vietnam, etc.
